Come with a hearty appetite. Although I did not experience all the meats on the menu whether available or unavailable for the evening, I was pleased with the food and service I was given. Definitely recommended for meat eaters. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Worth the trip and the price as my wife and I celebrated our special day. We ordered two different tasting menus so we got to taste each other's as well. All the dishes were well prepared and artful. I'll rate my wife's 10/10 and mine 8/10 for taste but that merely reflects personal taste buds and preferences. Service was excellent but shy of perfection. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a charming outdoor garden. Only wish the tables are farther apart. At least guests should be more spread out as the restaurant was not full. Whaley’s Raw Bar and Restaurant offers icy cold piles of oysters, clams and other shellfish, as well as seasonal seafood plates and craft cocktails – all served with sweeping river views in the heart of Yards Park, a short walk from Nationals Stadium.
Under Chef Daniel Perron, Whaley’s menu will feature shellfish towers, crudos, a selection of seafood-focused plates and a rotating family-style platter for sharing. Longtime collaborator, mentor and friend Brian Zipin has assembled a beverage program featuring classic cocktails, thoughtfully selected wines and good beers.
While the menu will change to reflect what’s seasonal and fresh, dishes will include Day Boat Scallop Crudo, Crispy Soft Shell Crabs and Pan Roasted Black Bass. Whaley’s works exclusively with purveyors that adhere strictly to rigorous sustainable seafood standards.More
We told people we offer super premium coffee and scratch-baked sweets and savories in north Gaithersburg, and they assumed we were crazy. We told them we cook in a wood hearth, and they said we were batty. We paired food with specialty cocktails and house infusions, and they thought we were nuts. We revealed the on-site aeroponic, organic garden where we grow vegetables, herbs and edible flowers, and they whispered we were mad as a hatter. And as the lights sparkled above a 100+ seat outdoor patio, they declared us Barking Mad.
