The Melting Pot - Arlington VA Ratings and Reviews
Our meal was excellent and our waiter Todd, was not only very nice but did an excellent job with informing us of all of our options and giving great suggestions. He made the already great experience of both food and ambiance that much better. Great experience and service! We will for sure be returning. We would recommend this place to anyone.
Nice decor and great ambiance. Our server, Carlos was amazing! Very personable and knowledgeable about the menu; he made great suggestions. Although the meal was a bit pricey, the food was delicious and the experience was fun! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely visit again!
Another amazing meal and fabulous service. This is a restaurant that is set up where you feel like you are having a semi-private dining experience. The quality of food and service is worth the fare. We were especially impressed by the service of the waiter who we found out just recently began working at the Melting Pot, but felt like he had been there much longer. Thanks again for a wonderful evening.
We knew what to expect as far as price. To me it is very overpriced but I do make the exception and go when I crave the yummy cheese and chocolate. Having said that, this location has very slow service which makes the already overpriced food not go down quite as well. We will be trying the Reston, VA location when the cheese and chocolate craving strikes again.
My first time going to the Melting Pot and it was an amazing experience. The ambience was great and the service was outstanding. The waitress was very patience and explained everything i needed to know about the food and service that would be provided with my first experience there very clearly. The wife and i really enjoyed ourselves and will be going back again.
Very disappointed . Booked table for 5 with high hair. Table was not ready had to get the high chair ourselves which was dirty with food all over the seat so had to ask the waiter to clean it off. My daughters fondue fork was dirty she requested a clean one but it never came. There was food on the floor around our table . Waitress was very nice did her best but had to leave us to attend to another table after ordering dessert another waitress arrived and asked us if we wanted dessert and we had to explain that we had already ordered!! I ordered a second cocktail and it took 20 mins to arrive . Food average and very over priced for what it was . There was definitely not enough chocolate fondue for the amount of fruit served you could get more at an additional charge . Love the concept but felt the standered was poor at this location .
Food was great, service was very good.
Ambiance was lacking due to the temperature. My date and I sweat throughout the meal due to the high temperatures in the restaurant. I had to get up and use the bathroom to douse my face and dry my forehead. You could actively see sweat on the unfortunate staff who have to wear long sleeves and pants. You can always add more layers but can only take so much off, please lower the ambient temperature of the restaurant.
Our waiter was great & engaging. He helped make our date memorable. He provided great recommendations! With his help, we decided on the brie and bacon with a touch of truffle oil for our starter and it was divine. We had refreshing salads and the salmon, duck, the pork, and filet mignon were great with our coq au vin cooking sauce. Our waiter also made superb red wine recommendations.
Had not been to a Melting Pot in about 15 years. Had a terrific table for 2 and food was amazing. So glad to have gone. Hardest thing was figuring out where to park. Next time I'll call for guidance as there is parking in the building which was a little hard to find as there is construction all around and on a Sunday night not all entrances are open to the general public.
We were served faster than anywhere I have ever been! I was impressed!
We tried the recommended cheese and didn't like it at all - too strong for us. Our server, Kat, replaced it with a different cheese of our choice with no charge, no questions asked. We loved the second cheese. Then the chocolate was fabulous as well. Wonderful service!
If you just do a cheese and chocolate fondue the meal is very affordable, especially for such a nice restaurant.
The menu for Ladies' night was complicated and difficult to understand. Server didn't even care to explain it. It was my first visit and no one cared to explain anything to me about how the ordering works. Most of the cheese selections if not all contained alcohol. Not alcoholic friendly, not kid friendly. Plates are overpriced and the menus are too wordy. Seriously need to redo your menu ! No one explained to us that everyone's fondu selection would be served in one pot. The service was poor, server was clumsy and kept dropping things, he left the drink menu on the table even after we completed ordering. Tables were cumbersome, he had no idea how to place plates on the table so that we all had access to it. When we first sat down the table smelled like it was wiped with a dirty cloth, very repulsive. I wanted to leave from the time I arrived. This was reserved for a teen birthday and the waiter refused to sing happy birthday like ALL restaurants do when it's a birthday celebration. IF YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY OFFERING BIRTHDAY PACKAGES WHY ARE YOU REFUSING TO SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR THE GUEST, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS WAS RESERVED! Mushrooms were served with dirt on it, very unhygienic. To top it all of the package I paid for was supposed to include a photo and they completely forgot to take the picture. I had to ask about it at the end of the meal and at that point they told us to stand against a wall and they will take the picture. I was very disappointed and repulsed by this service and I will never return. I will also make sure I tell everyone I know about how awful it was!
