The Melting Pot - Arlington VA Ratings and Reviews
The experience would have been fun if we were explained on how everything works, it was our first time there. We ordered a bottle of champagne and it took forever to get to our table plus it was warm. The music was too slow, we became tired, as we also waited for explanations and got bored.
Had cozy booth for our Valentine's Day dinner. Wine selection paired nicely with the assortment of courses. Portions did not overwhelm and by the second course we found a way to navigate the pot of fondue. Good date night option when you want some quiet time and not to feel rushed
I was at the Melting Pot in Arlington last week on Thursday for their monthly girls night special. I was there with some friends and while most of us have been to the Melting Pot before, the service we received was very abnormal. The other occassions I have gone to the Melting Pot, my husband and I have always had simply amazing service. This visit, maybe because of the girl night special, was very different. The waitress we had seemed to disappear for long segments, so we spent a lot of our time waiting for our waitress to return. I also seemed as though we were not being listened too. For instance, our waitress asked if we would like to order our salads while deciding on the cheese fondu which we started to order, but she turned and walked away and didn't return for close to ten to fifteen minutes later. I know that we added an extra cheese to our order, but there was a group of ladies next to us who started almost 45 minutes after us, but we ended at the same time. It was becoming frustrating waiting so long for our waitress all the time. I do have to say, the food was very good and the speciality drinks that night were delicious.
Our group enjoyed the unique interactive style of this restaurant. It was a comfortable setting and the staff was very good. Other parties had young children and it was a bit distracting. I would not recommend this restaurant for young children, their noise level was too much and it may not be ideal for them with hot surfaces embedded in the tables. The Melting Pot food and atmosphere otherwise were great!
Great family birthday, special occasion meal. Pricey, but when you are at the table for 2 1/2 hours and never feel either rushed, it's easy to understand why. Our server, Carlos, was helpful every step of the way through the meal, and the amount of food was plentiful. From Cheese course through Dessert, we enjoyed the experience along with our delicious meal.
My friend and I really enjoyed our meal and the time it takes to go through the four course experience allowed us to have a great conversation. Great for a couple but I wouldn't recommend for a first date (too many options that you would need to agree on and way too long of a meal(2hrs for the 4 courses) especially if you don't like your date lol) our server was great and he was prompt on bringing the next course. It wasn't very busy being that we went right when they opened on a slow day, but I have heard you could be waiting quite a while if you go on a busy day because the waiter is attending to multiple tables and setting things up takes time. I paid $100 for 2 which I thought was a great deal because you get SO much food! Would definitely recommend!
Service was slow. Food portions were smaller than expected. Seasoning and sauces were tasty. Shrimps and meats were fresh. We're first seated in the main hallway where there was heavy traffic and noise on both sides. Requested to be moved and we're moved to a secluded corner. Showed voucher for a complimentary box of chocolate covered strawberries, server said that he will give after eating but never brought it.
The dessert was noteworthy, the assortment of tasty morsels left me wanting more chocolate and more sweets. I wish that there was more to choose from as far as the appetizers go and the portion size for the main dish was small and only filling because of the time it took to cook each piece of meat thoroughly without the use of a timer though one is needed.Overall the experience was good and I would go back but only for the dessert.
Our waiter was knowledgable and attentive to the best of his ability. It was New years eve so the restaurant was crowded and he had a lot of tables. The manager quickly remedied a minor complaint we had. The chocolate fondue was cold but again we attributed this to a busy evening. Overall it was a fun place to celebrate the New Year.
I've been to several different Melting Pots around the country and this is one of the best experiences from start to finish. We were early so we started at the bar and the bartender suggested a wine that we ended up getting a bottle of at the table. The host staff was very kind and gave us options when our table was ready. Our server was phenomenal. Just the perfect balance of making sure we were taken care of, attentive and having fun at the table while still allowing us the time to have dinner together. The manager stopped by 2 times and was very interested in making sure our experience was perfect. It being New Year's Eve a lot of restaurants tend to let guests fall through the cracks but tonight was not the case. We couldn't have asked for a better experience to end the year that was 2016.
We just moved here from Dallas where we have been dining at Simply Fondue restaurant for all special occasions and every Christmas Eve for years. Because it is always hard to change, we didn't think The Melting Pot would meet our high expectations - and boy were we wrong! Delicious fondue every course, great value, wonderful server. Only SLIGHT disappointment were the cocktails. Although well priced, they seemed weak. But that is nothing in the big picture. We had a great holiday meal - thank you Melting Pot Arlington!
The Melting Pot offers an uncommon experience with its relaxed, four-course dinner, of which three course are fondue. My wife and I have been to the Melting Pot in general many times and have been to the Arlington location twice before. This was our first trip there with our daughter since she got old enough to be aware of a trip.
The staff was courteous and friendly as always, accommodating even our late arrival without more than a passing delay, and the manager arranged for just to take the chocolate fondue with us so we could make an appointment that we might have otherwise missed. Our server was slightly less sharp than has been the case on prior visits, overlooking the possibility that we might want to order more drinks and making a mistake on one of the salads, but he was friendly and it didn't set back our evening or the great experience we had. We had the special Christmas menu on this visit, including cranberry cheddar with a cider base and white chocolate-pumpkin fondue for dessert, and it was all very good.
I highly recommend the Melting Pot for romantic dinners, time with friends, and even family dinners - but I will concede that the complex flavors of some of the sauces, salads, and cheese were not entirely to our six-year old's liking, and that the leisurely pace of the meal makes it harder to accommodate a young child than some other venues and types of dining. That said, the restaurant readily accommodates families, and your son or daughter's palate may differ from ours. Give it a try - and if he or she isn't quite old enough to appreciate it yet, you'll still have a lovely time.
I took my granddaughter here for a meal after the theatre and it was marvelous!!! Our server, Tasha, was marvelous!!! She was attentive without being overly so and she was so friendly!! The food was amazing and the atmosphere is phenomenal-just what we've come to expect from the Melting Pot!!
This was our second visit to this location. It was, like before, amazing!!!
We only got cheese and chocolate but it was perfect and exactly what my husband and I were needing for a date night. I loved that they validated our parking ticket! Our server (forgive me, I forgot his name) was very polite and made sure we were well off. Kept up with our waters and we didn't wait long between each pot of awesomeness! A must if you love fondue. It can get pricey but it's worth it to us!
Made 5:30pm reservation for a birthday dessert treat with my husband and 11 year old son. It was still happy hour, and we found out that the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue were both half price. Nice surprise to get both for my birthday instead of just the chocolate we planned for! Server, Eli, was very personable and the food and drinks were tasty. We enjoyed our family evening here!
The server is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Several tables were celebrating birthdays and two tables were ladies getting together for holiday gift exchanges. The food was yummy. I've decided I prefer the alpine (traditional) cheese to the Wisconsin cheddar but it was still good. I got the salad with candied pecans and cranberries. It was the perfect size for got from the cheese course to the meat course. Loved the filet mignon and the gorgonzola sauce that goes well with it. The chicken was a little too highly seasoned for a sauce. Love the chocolate fondue ending to the 4 course dinner. Added on the extra (cheesecake, raspberries, gaufrettes) but ask what the cheesecake selection is that night. You may not like it. Really plain cheesecake tastes AWESOME dipped in milk chocolate. A little liqueur added to the chocolate is great. We added Bailey's.
