Service was excellent, as was the food. The restaurant itself is a little dated (decor is dark and the bathroom is oddly configured), but overall it was a great experience. Server asked if we were celebrating anything special (we were) and brought us a lovely complimentary dessert at the end of the meal, which was a very nice touch. Manager also came over to fix a burner issue and then spent some time chatting with us. Customer service was awesome!

This was our first time visiting The Melting Pot and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The server was amazing and exceedingly patient. The food was incredible and the ambiance was perfect! Thank you!

While I would not recommend this restaurant to families (it fits in the romantic date night or girl's night our category), nor would I list it as "kid appropriate' the staff and menu were actually very kid friendly. It was wonderful to be able to have a sophisticated night out with my entire family. Even my vegetarian teenager was pleasantly surprised by the diverse menu options. The staff was very accommodating. Loved every minute of it.
Great place for our third anniversary dinner. We actually got engaged here and I asked to reserve the same table. The manager was very pleasant and made us feel extra special. Our server was very nice and gave us excellent recommendations with mixing the dipping sauces and combining them with our veggies to cook. Only hiccup was we did not realize half price bottles of wine on Wednesday are for the $40 and under ones only!
Melting Pot Mailing List
Melting Pot is a bit pricey (you get a lot of food, but it's not an every-day kind of place), but you can save a lot of money if you join their mailing list and watch for specials. We saved almost $20 when we went during a recent promotion. The entree portions were a LITTLE smaller during the promotion, but since we usually leave uncomfortably full, this just meant we were only stuffed when we left. (We have zero self control with fondue and we can eat a LOT!) Service is sometimes a bit TOO discreet- they don't hover, but sometimes this means your drink sits empty for awhile before it gets noticed. Everyone is very nice when you ask for something, but I'd prefer not to have to wait and ask for a water refill.
Good place for special occasions
Our first time at the Melting Pot was a memorable experience. We went based upon reputation and recommendation of relatives. The occasion was our 33rd wedding anniversary. We chose the four-course meal and it was outstanding. However, you must pace yourself because there is so much food. The quality of the food and the service were both outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive and seemed to want us to have a good experience. Also, the manager stopped by to make sure we were happy. When she found out it was our anniversary, she congratulated us, and then later surprised us with two glasses of free champagne. The prices are high, but the food and service are very good. I would recommend it as a place for a special occasion. It would also be fun for a small group of friends if they expect ahead of time for the prices to be higher than average.

My family of 6 had an incredible time. It was our kids' first time; my husband and I have been there twice before. Every thing was excellent! Of course it is more expensive than Chick-fil-a, but you pay for the experience and it made quite a memorable evening.
Melting Pot....not so much
After hearing all of our friends rave about the experience at the melting pot, we decided to make a Birthday Dinner date last week.
We arrived, were quickly ushered to our own little private booth and sat down for dinner.
The staff was excellent, the restaurant was clean, and the ingredients and raw materials of the meal were great. Unfortunately that is the only positive things I can say about this restaurant.
SALTY: Every course with the exception of the desert fare was so overly salted that I could barely eat it. My personal taste for salt is a bit skewed toward very rarely using it, but even so the level of sodium in the fondue course and entre course was nearly beyond belief.
Cook your own food: My wife and I had no idea that all of the cooking of the meal was to be done by us. I understood the concept that the fondue and desert courses were self serve, and even enjoyed this part but I had no idea the main course would also be cooked by us. They brought out a platter of excellent meat (at least before the SALT and seasoning were added) and gave us instructions on how to "cook" i.e. boil all the ingredients. Fine quality lobster, duck sausage, and filet minon should never be boiled as it destroys the texture and is the last possible way anyone should ever prepare such ingredients. Couple this with a very SALTY broth to boil it in, and we felt like we just wasted a ton of fine quality cuisine. Also, we went to a restaurant to avoid cooking, not a fan of cooking my own food when I go to dine out.
So, overall, emphatic thumbs down for The Melting Pot, we won't be going back and did a do-over birthday dinner the next night at a more traditional restaurant that cost half as much and served a meal that was perfectly prepared by an expert chef (which we are not....) with tons of panache from all of the various staff.

Our server was amazing! She was attentive and make the experience fun. We can with 3 small children ages 7,5,&3 and she did everything to keep them happy and entertained. I have been to the melting pot 6 times now and have always felt like we were the servers only table! Love this place!

we recently dined with a large group and they were very much accommodating to our dietary restrictions and out group size. they are gluten-free friendly, something I didn't think would be possible. definitely a great get together for a lot of people. next time i would do double cheese and one chocolate. the meat course was good, but just like, different.
Great Mother's Day Idea 2016
Mother's Day was my parents first experience at the Melting Pot and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They've never had such a unique and refreshing experience and they look forward to returning in the future. I recommended Restaurant Week ;) . Overall this was my 3rd time visiting in less than a year and the service is always steller!
Good Food but Seats were INCREDIBLY uncomfortable
They need to seriously do something about these seats. I love melting pot but I will not be returning to this location for that reason. This is not a dine and dash kind of place. You need to plan to stay in it for the long hall at a restaurant like this. So suffice it to say, we were NOT happy that our backs started hurting half way in to the first of four courses. Maybe it was just our booth (doubtful), but I've never been in so much discomfort at a restaurant in my life...it really kind of hindered the entire experience. :-/
I took my husband to the Melting Pot to celebrate his birthday. Not only was the food delicious, as expected, but our server brought out dessert on a plate with "Happy Birthday!" spelled out in chocolate, which was nice. We have always enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant.
Wonderful catch-up fondue!
Had a wonderful experience catching up with a girlfriend for dinner. We haven't been here in a very long time and the service was exceptional. As soon as we arrived, the host made sure to ask if we needed our parking validated, which made the parking $2. That was great as we probably would have forgotten upon leaving. Unfortunately, we weren't very hungry so just settled on a cheese and chocolate fondue instead of an entree, which were perfect. We had the spinach and artichoke cheese fondue, which was very good. We also had the flaming turtle chocolate fondue that was delicious! We were probably there for 4 hours, but not because of slow service, but because we had a lot to talk about while we ate our delicious food. Would definitely recommend.
Highly recommended! Ask for Savanna.
I went to the Melting Pot in Arlington, VA with my sister. It was great from the moment we walked in. They validated our parking ticket so we only pair $2 for parking instead of $5. Our server, Savanna, was delightful. She was entertaining and had us laughing the entire time. She made perfect suggestions for our appetizers, salad and entrees. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this particular Melting Pot. We went early on a Sunday when it wasn't crowded. Ask for Savanna. You won't be disappointed.
Great Family Experience
The Melting Pot was a great experience! It was interesting, fun and fulfilling. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Even the ambiance was low key and intimate. The high back booth seating makes for a intimate and sage way to cook your good. I'll definitely visit again!
LOVE LOVE THE PLACE
what a great time had by all, we so much enjoyed just hanging out and taking our time to eat a great dinner, we will be back again because it is so relaxing and very much enjoyable place, thanks for the great customer service your employee's show their customers, be proud
Still like it despite the cutbacks
It was great overall. We are loyal customers. The big disappointment was that the cheesecake was no longer included with the chocolate fondue dessert. It was available at an additional price.
Several years ago the salad was included and now it is available at an additional cost.
It is a great restaurant and a great place. We will continue to be loyal customers. We go there frequently enough to recognized the changes in their pricing structure.
We had a really nice server. We were 15 min late and I called to inform them they were very nice. When we came they asked where we parked and I'm glad they did otherwise we would've been towed. While my friend moved the car I was seated. My server came over introduced herself and for our drink orders. She was knowledgable and friendly. Our food choices were good as well, especially the yummy fiesta fondue. And the drinks were great. Overall it was a good experience. I've been to other Melting Pot establishments and this was my first time to this one but I would have to say this I enjoyed myself. Thank you to the Melting Pot staff.
New St. Patty's Day Tradition
We chose to go to the Melting Pot for St. Patrick's Day this year because their menu looked very unique. We were not disappointed. I think it may have been one of the best menus we've tried at the Melting Pot. The entree consisted of corned beef, cedar plank salmon, shrimp, chicken, and duck and bacon sausage. We paired it with a fantastic bottle of Merlot. Our waitress was phenomenal with bringing us more sauce and dippers. We will definitely go back next year if they have a similar menu.
