Roberts Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham Ratings and Reviews
Good food, but noisy group next door
Nice place and very kid-friendly. Conveniently located right of Rock Creek Parkway (with validated parking from the restaurant--a HUGE plus) and with a METRO stop nearby so our group was able to get there on foot, by car, and by METRO easily. Our server was knowledgeable and courteous and the food was good. Only downside was a very noisy banquet going on next door that made it difficult to hear the conversations at our own table, but the kids enjoyed seeing the Obama and Trump impersonators that walked through en route to the party.

I love Robert's Restaurant and haven't been disappointed yet!
This was my fourth time at the Robert's restaurant with a party of four. The food was dry, unimaginative despite being their signature dishes for years. I had the same for Christmas dinner and the food was superb. I wish I knew who was in the kitchen at the time. There was a convention going on and that may be the reason for the sloppy meal preparation. Will try again.

A beautiful setting for a meeting. Incredibly difficult to get a reservation and service was lacking when we arrived. Breakfast food was just ok.
OK in a pinch
Fine for breakfast. Otherwise, Ok if you are staying at hotel and have no time to go out. But a fine hotel like the Omni should be doing better.

Perfect Business Environment
Robert's Restaurant is a true gem. The atmosphere is quiet, reserved, and the perfect environment for business people. Conversations flow easily and are not over burdened by the poorly matched background music so common in other rooms in the city. Robert's has resisted the "sins" committed by so many former grand meeting rooms (The Willard and the former Hotel Washington - now the W). Their updates are best characterized as placing Grandma in a mini-skirt and wondering why the effect doesn't work. People who need to engage in a polite business discussions - find Robert's Restaurant a welcome oasis in a city that is in the middle of the too rushed transition by so many establishments to cater only to the 25 year old. Robert's at the Omni keeps it simple - it does what it does with grace and good service.

The staff was amazing. Even though we were there a long time, they didn't continuously bother us.
Same type fare as ten years ago but with fewer high end stuff, like salmon. Price has risen by about 100%.
Went years ago for Giving - ok then. Amazing now!
Really huge improvement from last time. Food was excellent great tasting turkey. Nice variety of items on buffet. Highly recommend. Job well done.
Amazing Thanksgiving Buffet- well worth the cost!
Staff was friendly and food was excellent. My two children, ages 5 and 10, were thrilled with their "kid table" that was set up with pastas, carrots, chicken fingers, etc, but were also warmly welcomed by the staff at all the other tables, carving table included. Upon leaving, a beautifully decorated cookie was given to each of them. Food was served at the proper temperature and made my tastebuds dance with delight! This may be our new Thanksgiving location.
Very mixed experience
Dined here because we were staying here. The menu was very appealing, but the kitchen and service seemed rather amateurish - soup was served at the same time as the appetizer, both of which really needed to be eaten warm - we had them send the appetizer back for rewarming. Same thing happened with the entree, only worse - the protein was hot but dried out and overlooked, while the vegetable bed was cold. We sent this dish back and insisted on a new preparation, not just a rewarming (which is what they would have done otherwise.). This time the entree was delicious and perfectly prepared. It's too bad they couldn't have done it right the first time. Tasty food, finally; poor quality control.

The Shoreham is a beautiful & well-maintained Grande Dame among Washington hotels, which makes this luncheon experience, hosting out-of-town guests, all-the-more disappointing. Service was slipshod, bordering on indifferent. The staff, from maitre d' to waiters appeared focused elsewhere. The crab cake was bland & the presentation of a salade entree was haphazard. It looked as if it had been run through a wind tunnel, prior to arrival at the table. The featured dessert, Biscuit Tortoni, came with vanilla wafers, rather than the classic amaretti cookies. All-in-all, underwhelming. Sorry!
On Saturday, the brunch buffet shuts down at noon
Our friend wanted to go here for brunch, and eat waffles, to celebrate her birthday. So we made a noon reservation. As we arrived, right about noon, we were told the buffet closes at noon so if we want breakfast we better be speedy. I've never heard of a brunch buffet ending at noon. This is NOT that kind of brunch buffet. In fact, it was more like the very ordinary breakfast at any business traveler's hotel.
Well received for dinner at restaurant and shown to table. Surprisingly we were then left for 25 minutes without any attention even though the restaurant was not busy. We gave up and walked out !!!!

Looks better than it is...
Dinner Service was the worst I have seen in years. Unfriendly and unhelpful...for the money, you should go some place else.
Dine Great Gatzby Style
Lovely 1930's era hotel setting. Grand and spacious. Sat outside on terrace Ruth beautiful view if gardens.
Good for a business lunch
The steak salad is great and everyone seemed to enjoy their lunch. We did have to ask for a refill of ice tea once but after that, it came promptly.
a beautiful venue
While a lovely environment..the for was okay..nothing special..nothing wrong, but not memorable. Wanted to have a business lunch there and my associate asked to have a salad instead of french ties ...a fairly common exchange and was told there would be an extra charge. EMBARRASSING.... figure it out in your pricing and cost structure. A buck or two...seriously. The Marriott gladly makes exchanges like this. Need to examine this...Server was not at the quality or attentiveness I would have expected.
Met visiting friends for Sunday Brunch. Lovely food served well in a beautiful room at anticipated inflated prices.
nice in the hotel
Good food & attentive service. One minor issue was addressed by staff. Good food selection & attractive restaurant.
This restaurant a perfect choice for Xmas lunch. Variety of food was amazing and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. Staff very friendly & attentive. Was recommended by friends and will recommend to others ourselves!
17th Wedding Anniversary
We chose to celebrate our 17th Wedding Anniversary at Roberts and what a fantastic decision that was. We were a little late because of a parking catastrophe by the Valet staff. However, Robert's staff accomodated us and made us feel very special. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant highly for celebrating any special occasion or just having a nice date night out. Beautiful decor and very friendly staff.

disappointing but conveniently located in our hotel
Roberts was not my idea of a great night out. The service was okay but there was a very limited menu. The food was good but lacked the fine dining quality. For a hotel dining experience it will serve best at breakfast and lunch. I would dine at dinner elsewhere.
2 breakfasts & 2 dinners
Breakfast buffet was very good. The coffee was excellent, plentiful. The smoked salmon was terrific. All other items very good. At dinner scallops were excellent quality, although on 2 nights they were a tad sandy. Breakfast buffet above expectations. Coffee excellent & plentiful. Smoked salmon high quality. All else, good to very good. Nicely laid out. Good service. Dinner two nights in a row: scallops delicious, although a tad sandy. Salad nice. Waiter, not as good.
Can't wait to do it Again!
Robert's is an absolute delight! The Dining Room is absolutely gorgeous and the food was terrific - both evening dinner and breakfast buffet (completely gourmet and "cook to order". Hats off to the whole experience.
The A/C Wasn't Working
The reputation, service and food is really impeccable. However, when the indoor portion of the restaurant is as hot as it is outside...the experience is diminished.
Great atmosphere and good food
Roberts is a favorite for breakfast and brunch. Dinner is also very good. Their prices above average but along with that comes the quaint environment, the quality of food and good service which is worth it.
Very Nice, beautiful setting
we were very pleased by the food ,by the setting and by the service
Beautiful Dinning Room Food Average
This is the hotel dinning room. It is very elegant and beautiful with lots of glass and windows. We chose this because we were in town for a graduation and staying at the hotel. The food choices on the menu were rather limited and they were out of the meatloaf that my husband most wanted. My husband had the pasta crab dish, my daughter the baked chicken, I had a salad. All were average...noting of note. The service was good. We had a drink in the hotel bar before dinner....I would recommend it! The bar also serves food, which if we returned we would try. Very good service in the bar and nice atmosphere.
I took a friend out for his birthday on the Sunday evening, Mother's Day, and I was worried that service would be poor because of the day. To the contrary, everything was very well done. I have been to this restaurant in the past for lunch and dinner, and once for a Thanksgiving menu. I have never been disappointed. Roberts consistently presents great menu choices, good service, excellent food, nice presentation, and fantastic ambience. It's a simple and quiet restaurant. The vaulted ceilings and massive chandeliers in the dining room create an old Europe experience. But the ambience is far from stuffy. The the outdoor tables, on the terrace, and on the patio, overlook a beautiful formal garden. Roberts is worth a special trip.
Convenient, good food
My family and I travel to DC every year and have quickly discovered that it can be difficult finding good restaurants in the Woodley Park area. We ate here for Breakfast: the buffet, while pricey, was a great choice. There is a great variety and you can eat until you are sure it will hold you over for an early dinner. The food is fresh and delicious. I particularly LOVED the crab eggs benedict. Dinner: We've learned what to avoid (crab mac n cheese) and what to enjoy (shrimp caesar salad, meatloaf, salmon). The service is excellent if you go on the weekend when it is busier, but can be slow on weekdays. The most recent visit we also ordered appetizers: onion soup which was served warm not hot, and the scallop appetizer that was amazing!
We had a lovely Easter Brunch last Sunday. We especially appreciated the excellent gluten-free crab cakes since we are gluten free. Thanks! We also appreciated the way several staff members constantly checked on us. Outstanding service! We went to the Omni Shoreham for brunch a couple of months ago and was very impressed that they had a gluten-free section for their brunch. That's why we decided to go there for Easter Brunch and will return again and again.
Nice restaurant for business breakfasts and lunches. Food is nice, private areas, and quick services.
Its an average place to eat
Food and service was good i had expected more from an omni but it is convenient and decent.
Don't hesitate to ask for service
We had dinner there and would have had a bad experience had the hostess not stepped in to take our order, get our drinks and just make us feel welcome! Kudos to her after we asked her to help us in the absence of our server. Told they had been slammed (while we saw maybe 10 tables occupied), our hostess stepped in gracefully till our server stepped in, professionally, like a team player. We had a couple orders of beet carpaccio (3 kinds of beets done three ways), scallops that were perfect and delicious chicken pot pies. Food was good and menu is really varied and well prepared and plated. Oh, we were there to catch up and the noise level was low and intimate. Totally conducive to talking!
