Benihana - Chandler Ratings and Reviews
The food was good but service was all kinds of wrong. We were seated at a table a few minutes before one right next to us. The other table got served first. At 53 minutes after our reservation time finally we got soup. It should NEVER take as long as it did for us to get our food. We also waited for quite a while for drink refills. We were served our chicken fried rice, then protein and then vegetables. The zucchini was way over cooked at that point and I was disappointed. This was probably our 10th visit and maybe our last.
Went in with my house my birthday dinner. I've been coming here for about 7-8 years now for my birthday but this year it just seem like the waitress was not tentative. We pretty much had to ask her for the tea and for the birthday ice cream for our table and had the family next to us not asked about the picture, we would not have had our yearly picture taken either. :( Could of been better.
We had a very good time and the food was great. It was very busy the night we went so service was a bit slow. They did forget our rice with our food and the drink refills took a pretty long time. Other than that the chef was great and the food tasted amazing.
The RICE was not cooked all the way, and I'm not talking it was "al dente," it was undercooked. You don't expect this at a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. Now maybe it would have been different had we been seated at a Teppan table, but we were in the bar/lounge area so we didn't have to wait 1 1/2 hours for a teppan table. Used my $30 birthday certificate which is why we went there in the first place. I think it's over-rated and we won't be going back there, unfortunately.
We waited an hour for our drinks and someone to come to the table. It was a Tuesday evening. I made reservations and when I checked in at the hostess station 7 minutes early I was promptly told my reservation was at 645 and that is when we would be seated. Took the mediocre food forever to get on the plate. Our cook was Ok, but less than energetic (of course he already knew we had waited a ridiculous amount of time for him to get to us) We did ask to speak to the manager after an hour and a half of still no food and no refills on the drinks that took an hour for the first ones. She brought some free plates of fried food that no one wanted and a couple coupons for a free appetizer with the purchase of a meal for the next time we come. We gave them to the couple at our table (it was the ladies birthday) We will not be back. I feel sorry for the people that work there as no one is trained properly nor cares about the experience of their customers. Btw, not that it matters. But we had a few family members in from out of town due to a death in oir family and we wanted to go out for a nice meal before everyone took off back home. Thank you for ruining that for us...or maybe making it more memorable, something we can laugh at I guess ;)
The speed of service was horrible. My wife and I had a reservation at 7. We waited till 7:15 to be seated and we're placed at a table by ourselves. At 7:35 five other people were sat at our table. At 7:45 pm the waitress came and took our drink order- the drinks came out at 7:58.
The chef came out to start at 8:20 after two tables which had been seated after my wife and I were already well into their meal.
Benehana isn't ever speedy but it's never been this bad on our past visits.
Their chefs can't cook anymore....it used to be you got someone who had done it for 10 years minimum and now you get less than 6 months , a year or less. It's a joke of its former self. Will not be back to benihana which is sad for me because I used to truly enjoy this restaurant.
As usual we made a reservation for 645p. We get there 635 and told there will be a wait as people are still eating. We finally get seated at 720. Nobody asked if we wanted drinks or even water or appetizers while we waited. Once seated the service was great as was the food. The price as expected was high but that is a known. They did take 20% off for the wait but by the time dinner was over out kidd were so crabby
Benihanas was absolutely delicious! The food was excellent! The experience was outstanding! Our Chef Sam was the best! He was so fun and entertaing! He made the night relaxing and enjoyable! The food was so good! Benihanas has the best fried rice I have ever eaten! The steak falls apart in your mouth. The shrimp was delicious too! We all loved the sushi!! We went on a family date to eat dinner. Our boys all loved it! They range from the ages of 16 to 6. It is great for all ages. We had the best time at Benihanas! We will definitely go back!!!
This time, we got an inexperienced chef. He took forever and spilled a beverage on a young couple on their prom date. He forgot several ingredients and had to re-cook several lobsters at our table due to them being under-cooked. Our food was salty too. I usually order the grilled ahi; it wasn't so good this time. I'll have to be more careful in the future with my order. We come down from Kingman, when we are in the area to dine. I will go someplace else next time. I do love Chandler though. Note: even our complimentary photo was blurry. :-(
